AP-300 Automatic Polarimeter

Summary

The AP-300 polarimeter is available at no cost to users of the Chemical Instrumentation Facility. The polarimeter is used to irradiate a sample with polarized light and then measure the angle of rotation of the light after it has passed through an optically active substance. The instrument is walk-on, and a brief training is required before using.

The instrument is located in 1240 Hach Hall.  Enquiries should be directed to Sarah Cady.  Phone 515-294-5805 (office).
