GC/MS Experimental Section - Sample
Electron impact GC/MS experiments were performed on a Waters GCT mass spectrometer, (Waters, Inc., Beverly, MA) coupled with an Agilent 6540 GC (Agilent, Santa Clara, CA). Helium carrier gas was used at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min (constant flow mode) throughout the run. The column used was a 30-meter DB-5MS with 0.25 mm i.d. and 0.25 micron film thickness (Agilent, Santa Clara, CA). All experimetns were carried out in 50:1 split mode at an injector port temperature of 260 degrees Celcius and transfer line temperature of 250 degrees Celcius. The oven temperature was programmed as follows: 75 deg C for 2 min then ramped at 15 deg C per min to 300 deg C, holding for 5 min.
The instrument was scanned in positive ion mode from 35 to 650 daltons at a scan speed of 0.5 seconds per scan.
