Combustion EA Acknowledgements and Experimental

Acknowledgement of CIF Staff Assistance

"We wish to thank ISU Chemical Instrumentation Facility staff members <insert name(s) here> for training and assistance pertaining to the ThermoFlashSmart CHNS/o elemental analysis results included in this publication."

Experimental Section Information

"Elemental analysis results (%C, %H, %N or %C, %H, %N, %S) were acquired using Thermo FlashSmart combustion analyzer

For most publications or presentations it may only be appropriate to mention the calibration standard (acetanilide for CHN measurements or cysteine for CHNS measurements), the expected precision and accuracy of the measurements (+/- 0.3% for each element), and the combustion and reduction temperatures (925 oC and 640 oC for CHN measurements; 975 oC and 975 oC for CHNS measurements).  All standards and reagents are from CE Elantech, EA Consumables, or Millipore Sigma.

If you would like to include more details in the experimental section of your thesis, review the QA/QC Protocols page for a discussion of how measurements are obtained and the data is analyzed.
